One of our favorite winter day trips is going to Pass Thurn or even Kitzbuhel.  With a Salzburg Superskicard it’s included.  You drive direction Mittersill.  At the roundabout go right direction Pass Thurn.  At some point you get to the first lifts.  Don’t park there, don’t take those “egg lifts”.  Drive further until you see “Pass Thurn”.  On your left hand side you have a large parking area (resterhohe) and a fast seating lift bringing your straight up the Resterhohe).

The ski area of Pass Thurn is connected with Kitzbuhel.  It’s perfectly possible to start the morning (around 9) at this lift, go all the way to the famous “Streif”, spend time on the Streif and see how crazy those racers are and come back all the way from Kitzbuhel by 4 in the afternoon.  Including a lunch stop :-).
